At 55V, there could be voltage spikes on PVDD that exceed the absolute maximum ratings of the device.
Please examine the voltage spikes at 24V when operating. This can be used as an indicator at 55V.
You may need to increase the system bulk capacitor to reduce the voltage spikes.
