Tool/software:
Hi team,
My customer is evaluating the MCF8329 via the EVM board and met below issue now, could you please help give some comments? Thanks.
For compatibility with 5V MCUs, the customer has removed the SCL, SDA, FG and the AVDD pull-up resistor of nFault on the EVM. And connect to the customer's own MCU using jumper bridge J9 (pulled up to 5V).
At this point, I2C communication is normal, but the nFault light is on after writing the ROM configuration. The motor cannot be driven properly.
The DCBUS_OVER_VOLTAGE bit of the CONTROLLER_FAULT_STATUS register indicates a DC bus over voltage fault (no other faults).
The EVM PVDD supply is 12V and the fault disappears when the PVDD is reduced to approximately 9.6V.
The attached file is the configuration file that has successfully driven the motor in Motor Studio and is identical to the configuration written when the problem occurs.
Thanks in advance!
