RE: DRV8803 PWM duty cycle floating point handling relate issue

Hi Mr. Rick,

My application is to drive the Pneumatic Proportional Flow control Solenoid valve. I need to control the flow output of Proportional valve with input of PWM signal from Microcontroller.

Proportional Solenoid Specifications.

Flow output: 0 to 180 LPM.

Operating Voltage : 12, 15 and 18 Volts.

Maximum Load current: 220 mA.

Frequency of PWM signal is either 1Khz, 5Khz or 10Khz.

I need to drive 3 Solenoids.

i want to achieve maximum step resolution of 0.1 LPM for the range of (0 to 40 LPM) and 1 LPM for the range of (41 to 180 LPM).

Valve has certain limitation and i will go for some alternate solution for that.

I tried to use DRV8803 but it is working for intiger value Duty cycle only such as 51,52,53,etc., . If i give Duty with Floating point such as 51.1,51.2,51.3 it is not working.

Expecting your support to proceed further.

Application: Medical ventilator design ( DRV8803 Used to drive Proportional solenoids to deliver expected flow output with PWM input to DRV8803)
