RE: BEST SOLUTION FOR A 48V/200W BLDC MOTOR FOR HANDY TOOL

Hallo Rick,

thank you very much for your prompt reply.

I would definitively go to DRV8301/02/03 or DRV8320/23, but these last one are not available.

If I understood correctly, the family is a Three-Phase Driver for BLDC. They are all suited for 60DCV max. The 8301 has SPI interface, the 8302 has Hardware Control Interface (maybe HCI has a faster response?), the 8303 has a SPI interface, and DOES NOT HAVE the BUCK STEP DOWN CONVERTER.

I found two different DEV BOARD:

My doubt is regarding the back emf in stopping the motor: in fact someone says that spikes can reach 100/150 volt depending on the inertia of the rotor.

In that case the devices of the DRV series will be definitively damaged, or there is a solution to protect them?

Thank you very much for your kind attention and support!

Warmest Regards

Fabio
