RE: DRV8703-Q1EVM: About how to check the protection function (flag generation) using DRV8703-Q1 EVM

Hello Hiroaki-san,

1) Charge-Pump Undervoltage (CPUV) Lockout.

For CPUV test, please disconnect the 1uF capacitor connected to VCP, then use a source meter to source separate voltage to the VCP pin (ex, VM+4V). Then slowly vary the VCP voltage, you should trip the CPUV fault report around V_vm+1.5V. Please note the source meter should be able to sink current.

2) Overcurrent Protection (OCP) Set the VDS setting value of the VDS control register to 000b = 0.06 V.

After you set the VDS value. Please do the following:

- Remove the 0 ohm resistor from the GL2 to the gate of the FET.

- Place a 1k ohm resistor from the gate to GND

- Place a resistor from VM to SH2 pin so you have a higher voltage differential on the SH2 pin than the VDS value set.

3) Gate-Driver Fault (GDF).

For GDF fault, please connect the GL2 pin to GND. GDF should flag. Thank you.
