DRV8312 kit with PM_Sensorless application

Hi, I am new to TI's EVBs and this kit but have been working with the DRV8312 kit for the past couple of weeks and I have a simple question regarding motor current.

I am using the PM_Sensorless project which utilizes a FOC control of a PMSM motor.

Within the code i notice that throughout all the build levels of the project the IqRef (Torque component) is set to a pu value of 0.20

Within the header file PM_Sensorless-Settings.h i notice the following line

#define BASE_CURRENT    8.6 // Base peak phase current (amp) , maximum measurable peak current

From what I read on FOC you can control torque and speed simultaneously.

My question is does a torque reference IqRef of 0.20 pu directly translate to a phase A/B/C current amplitude of 0.20*8.6A = 1.72 A ?

Thanks
