Hi,
I have a 2 phase brushless dc motor that uses about 28 VDC and 1-1.3 Amps. Attached to the output shaft is an optical encoder that is very accurate (down to arcseconds... it's the BEI AIME-II encoder). The motor has 2 wires that go to ground and then 1 wire that should be supplied with a sine wave and the other with a cosine wave (hence 2 phase). I need to do position and velocity control on the motor (i.e. command it to a certain angle or angular rate), and also possibly acceleration control. Is there something I can purchase that will do what I need? Or maybe a few things I can put together? I am very new to working with motors, and this is way out of my realm of expertise. My boss said he would like to be able to send the position and velocity control commands via simulink.
Thanks,
Dustan
