Hello Kelly-san,

Any update?

Our customer is waiting to have evaluation environment.

DRV2700: 7msec duration output

Part Number: DRV2700

Hello,

Our customer try to set 7msec On time duration for one cycle 150Hz signal output.

But DRV2700EVM GUI does not accept less than 50msec setting at standard drive tab.

Also we tried Audio drive tab setting like 150(Hz),7(ms),1000(ms) however output waveform has still 40msec duration.

To drive Piezo haptics device, 50msec is too long then we can hear the sound instead of mechanical feedback.

How can we set GUI parameter to get 7msec duration output? Can we modify GU software?

Our customer does not want to bring Analog output Signal Generator for Haptics demo.

Mochizuki

Yanming,
Thanks for getting back to me on my question. I will most likely get the 600 VDC adjustable power supply. I will probably have another question or two, so I will leave this post open for now.
Thanks again,
Ron Stewart

DRV8873-Q1: The fault report in case of DRV8873H-Q1

Part Number: DRV8873-Q1

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DRV8873H-Q1?

On the datasheet P28, there is the description of the fault report.
We assume that it contains -S1 version.
Could you let us know the fault report in case of DRV8873H-Q1?
In case of DRV8873H-Q1, should we regards as follows?

・DIS_CPUV=0b
・OCP_MODE=00b
・ITRIP_REP=0b or 1b(Does it depend on ITRIP pin setting?)
・TSD_MODE=0b
・OTW_REP=0b

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

I checked all INLx and INHx signals with oscilloscope.

Ths signal is correct.

I don't know why the GHx is high with low INLx and ILHx.

all signals are checked with oscilloscope.

INHA : low     INLA : low

INHB : pwm   INLB : !pwm

INHC : low     INLC : high

then gate signal is as follows.

GHA : high     GLA : low   --> GHA is wrong!

GHB : pwm     GLB : !pwm

GHC : low       GLC : high.

DRV8323RH is used.

mode pin is connected to GND.

Is there a any possibility to make the gate signal?

DRV8842: I0 - I4 configuration for NO current regulation feature

Part Number: DRV8842

Hello,

the datasheet says if the current regulation feature is not needed, it can be disabled by connecting the ISENSE pins directly to ground and the VREF pins to V3P3.

The I0 - I4 pins have internal pulldown resistors of 100k.

I'd like to know if is necessary to tie these pins to V3P3 (or pullup resistor) to get 100% chopping?

Thanks

Hi Rick-san,

Thank you for your reply.
It may be necessary to consider the impedance of GPIO and R1//R2.

Thanks,

Part Number: DRV8884

Hello,

Our customer try to control the full scale current using a PWM signal with the circuit of the Figure 16 on the datasheet.

They want to control the full scale current from 0.05A to 1A.

They calculate the maximum current  as follows.

I_max :  ARREF / (RREF+ (R1//R2) ) at 0% duty

How should the customer calculate the minimum current at 100% duty?

Naoki Aoyama

DRV10974: how to control pwm input when start up?

Part Number: DRV10974

Dear Engineer:

with DRV10974 used ,do we need to change the pwm duty cycle when motor start up?

for example:

we need cw and motor run at  special speed(50% pwm duty cycle) , when motor start up ,should we first provide pwm duty cycle under 15% and then  incease the duty cycle step by step to 50%;

or the only thing need to be done is set the FR and set the pwm duty cycle to 50%?

Our hardware shows that ,when we just set the FR and pwm duty cycle to 50%,the motor speed up to a high speed ,and then down to the right speed we need, can you please help us figure out the cause?

hi sir

Do you have any DRV8870 MTBF"Mean Time Between Failures" data or failures cause analysis report

We want to know,IF DRV8870 fail to cause motor continuous rotation and FW can't used IN1/IN2 to control motor stop..

DRV8870  have any protection way can stop it.

Hi Sean,

Thank you for your recommendation, but I cannot understand your comment.

>Do you have the border of 'low inductance'? What inductance value should we choose for low inductance?
>Why F28069M is better than F28027? Both devices have higher frequency than 1100Hz. So I think both devices can work well.

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8301

Dear all,

Can this EVM kit (BOOSTXL-DRV8301 +LAUNCHXL-F28207F) control motor as 33,000rpm?

>motor: 4 pole and 3 phase BLDC

>Voltage: 10~14V, Current: 5A

>control: sinusoidal drive

And, there are other valiations to choose 'BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM+LAUNCHXL-F28207F' or 'DRV8305-Q1EVM'.

Can these boards control 33,000rpm?

Could you teach which is the best board ? and what is concerns to drive faster?

Best regards,

Hi Rick,

The VM is supplied by a battery so it should be stable enough. We also tried to half the step frequency but the 400mA output current still distorted. Please see the waveform as below. Do you have any advice on how we should do next? Thanks.

Best regards,

Wayne

Part Number: DRV8833

Hi team,

My customer is using our DRV8833 to drive a stepper motor in full step mode. VM is supplied by a 3.7V battery. When the Risense=1ohm, the chopping current should be 200mA and the current waveform is OK. But when they change the Risense to 0.5ohm to make the chopping current to be 400mA, the current waveform is distorted. Please see below picture for the 200mA and 400mA chopping current. Could you please help analyze the root cause? Thanks.

Best regards,

Wayne

Hi sir

TI you have any MTBF " Mean Time Between Failures"data or Failures cause report?

We want to confirm when IC fail to cause Motor continuous rotation. FW can't used IN1/IN2 control to stop Motor.

DRV8870 have any protection way to STOP motor of 24V(VM) is always ON.

DRV2604LEVM-CT: Firmware crashes when selecting mode 5 or mode 11 (Adjustment of output frequency)

Part Number: DRV2604LEVM-CT

Good morning

We are using the DRV2604LEVM-CT to evaluate the DRV2604L together with a custom actuator. To complete the evaluation, we would like to adjust the output frequency when auto-resonance is turned off.

This feature seems to be available in binary counting mode (mode 5 / mode 11). However when one of these modes is selected and button B1 is pressed, the board crashes. The red LED from button B1 is turned on and the board has to be unplugged and replugged to the power supply to be reactivated.

What could be the issue here? Theh problem arises with the actuators on the board as well.

Best regards

Hi Kelly,

We have met a problem,in our current setting, NRST is pull high(1.8V),TRIG pin pull high(1.8), VDD is connect to 3.8V,and no I2C signal activity. We find the power consumption in this condition is about 0.5mA. Is this a normal power consumption in this condition?
What is DRV2624 status in this condition?Standby or idle?
Does TRIG pin always pull high will cause DRV2624 go to idle mode?

Hi Sirs,

We have several DRV2624's questions which need product line's recommendations:

1.After finishing diag routine, customer found the result shows "DIAG_RESULT: z=31 k=48 DIAG_RESULT: R=162761886" What is R units? How to we translate 162761886 to ohm?
2.What its max and min driving voltage?
3.What is DRV2624 close loop tracking accuracy?

Thank you and Best regards,

Hi Brad,

Have you tried the suggestion from the related post? I mean have you verified that GND connection is not being an issue in this case?
Regarding the boost voltage, this voltage is set by the external resistor divider on FB network, not by the gain.
Also, could you share the I2C script you're using? You mention an example, but what would it be? Is it the one on section 8.3.2.1 from data sheet?
