Tool/software:

I have a slightly different application question regarding the use of a BLDC motor in a space-constrained environment. The application operates at 48VDC with Hall sensor feedback, requiring SPI interface and a single PWM control signal. The average operating DC current is 1.5A, and I am considering the DRV8312, which has a peak current rating of 6.5A.

However, due to the compact footprint of this chip, I am concerned about its performance in low-airflow environments. Specifically, if the motor becomes locked with a 48VDC supply and a motor resistance of 20 ohms, resulting in a 2.4A DC current in a locked-rotor condition, and the ambient temperature reaches 40°C, will the chip be able to withstand these conditions? Or is the DRV8312 unsuitable for such harsh environments, where high ambient temperatures and reliability are critical?
