Hi Mickey,
Q1: You mean that the overcurrent 3A cannot be changed through the Itrip, right?
- Correct, the overcurrent at 3A cannot be changed but you can limit the current to 2.8A or lower using Itrip.
Q2: Can the Itrip current or higher be set as the stall current?
- The maximum trip current you can achieve if the sense pin is directly connected to ground is 2.8A.
Q3: For the R_sense = 0.5V/ I_trip, this should be determined the Itrip value first. So how can I determine the Itrip first? Or what is range for the R_sense ?
- You can choose to limit you current at a certain level. Let's say I want to limit my current at 2A for simplicity. then using this formula Rsense will be 0.25 ohms. Hence, a 0.25 ohm resistor will need to be placed to the sense pin.
I hope this helps, thanks.
